Maranao offended by Eat Bulaga’s host in a Halloween TV show

Iligan City- More than a thousand Muslim demonstrators gathered at the public plaza at the Islamic City of Marawi  in protest  to a popular noontime television show where hosts donned an Arab  costumes during their special TV show,Halloween party last Saturday.

The protesters aired their mixed reactions after comedian hosts Senator Vicente “ Tito” Sotto III and Joey De Leon wore an Arab costumes during Eat Bulaga’s Halloween party show.  
The rally in Marawi was held following Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Governor Mujiv Hataman issued a public statement and demands a public apology.
Hataman and other Muslim Filipinos who saw it as an insult and demanded that Sotto and De Leon should apologize to the Muslim Filipinos as they are trying to portray Muslims are often troublemakers or terrorists.

Aga khan “Bin Laddin “ Sharief, the Marawi City rally organizer said,  the demonstrators  like Hataman also demanded a public apology from Eat Bulaga’s hosts Sotto and De Leon.  “Muslims considers donning of thobe  and a keffiyeh or kufiya around their head is disgusting ,disrespectful, shameful, racist  and insensitive”,  as Sharief quoted  some of the comments posted in the social media.
Student leader, Mohammad Ali Kanapia Sharief said Sotto and De Leon should not wear a “Kimon” which the Muslims consider it a sacred. He challenged Sotto to wear it during his birthday and during senate session but not during Halloween party with other monsters.
“Many Filipino Muslim were insulted after a TV hosts wore it at a time when most Filipinos are observing All saints and All Souls days in the cemeteries all over the county”, Sharief stressed.

Meanwhile, Sotto in a national radio statement said that he used to wear Arab costumes in his movies and since he became a movie actor.
