Infrastructure MOA signed between LaSur provincial government and municipal LGUs

Marawi City, Lanao del Sur-  Thirty-nine municipal local government units of this province led by its mayors  entered into a memorandum of agreement with the provincial government headed by Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Adiong,   Jr held at the provincial capitol complex.    

The infrastructure project worth P2 million per town will be implemented by every recipient municipality based on the needs of the municipality. The budget shall come from the internal revenue allotment of  Lanao del Sur, particularly from the 20 percent development fund.   

“We received these requests from June to this month and the projects range from a municipal complex road network, expansion of a rural health unit, a municipal parameter fencing, road repairs and rehabilitation, farm to market roads, barangay roads, multipurpose and open gymnasium, a box culvert with access road, municipal guest  houses, municipal hall buildings,  multi-purpose covered courts, and a public badminton building,” Adiong said. 

The MOA signing was attended by Governor Adiong and eleven mayors with their treasurers and representatives. Local executives who were not able to attend the ceremony can still transact with Trust Fund Unit inside the Executive Building by complying with all the needed requirements so that the checks can be released to their respective treasurers. 

Engr. Dimasira Macabando, Jr, the Trust Fund Unit head disclosed that all projects implemented will be monitored by the provincial government. Failure by any municipality to complete the project after submitting all the liquidation documents bearing the expenses incurred, the provincial government shall continue the project. “The project of each municipality has a 40 day maximum completion date upon the submission of all the requirements by each municipal LGU and the release of the funds to them,” Macabando said.   

“We have complete faith in our mayors that they shall abide with what we have agreed, we look forward to seeing all these projects implemented, hopefully within the year so that immediately our municipal constituents can be benefitted as the requests really came from them through their leaders,” Adiong said.
